Sewing Lessons

Sewing Lessons, first things first, you need to prepare your materials for sewing. So, let's start with the supplies necessary for your first sewing project. Of course, you'll need your Sewing Machine and it's Foot Pedal. Then you're gonna need the thread that you'll be using, some needles for your Sewing Machine, a sin marker which is very important for your mistakes, a sharp pair of scissors, some thread clippers, some pins, a rule, the fabric you'll be using, and then something to mark your fabric with. You can use markers like chalk pencil, a chalk dispenser which has a wheel and as the wheel turns the chalk comes out, and you may also use a disappearing ink marker. These are all the basic things you need to get started with your first sewing project.

Winding your Bobbin:
Once you have your basic sewing supplies, next step is to your sewing machine. The first thing that you're gonna do is to wind your bobbin. You can use a plastic bobbin or a metal bobbin. Depending on your sewing machine, there are different types of bobbin and also different sizes. You can refer to your user manual so you will know which one you'll need. In order to wind your bobbin, you need to push your bobbin winder to the right side. Next is to place the thread that you'll use for your project. Slowly place your thread to the tension disk and wind it clockwise around your bobbin. Wind it at least 5 - 6 times around your bobbin and then just step on your Foot Pedal. And that will wind your bobbin.

Placing Bobbin in your machine:
After winding your bobbin, it's time to put it in your machine. Put the bobbin with the thread in your Bobbin Case, turn the case over and insert the bobbin. Carefully place the thread to completely set up your bobbin. Now, carefully attach your bobbin into your machine until you here it snap. Once it is locked, then the bobbin is correctly placed.

Need Placement:
The next step is to load the needle into your sewing machine. For beginners, you should start with the universal needle as needles come in many different sizes. The size of the needle corresponds to the weight of the fabric. The higher the number, the thicker the fabric. Locate the rounded portion of the needle and carefully load it in the needle holder of your machine. Turn and tighten the needle to secure that it's in place. Make sure the needle doesn't fall out.

Threading your sewing machine:
After placing the needle correctly, you're almost ready to start sewing. The last thing that you have to do is to actually thread your machine. Place the thread on the spool of your machine. You can browse your user manual to see the correct procedure.  Then place the thread through your needle hole. And your ready to start sewing!

Bringing up the bobbin thread:
You need the thread to be coming out on the center hole right underneath your needle. To do that, you must pull up the top thread, turn the hand wheel towards you to take a stitch, and as the needle comes back up tuck the top thread until the bobbin thread comes up. When the bobbin thread comes up, use something pointy, tuck it again, and pull the thread back up. You will know that you did the right thing when you can see both bobbin thread up top. Then your ready to go for your very first sewing project.

Always remember to refer to your user manual for the proper procedures. Enjoy your very first stitch! And that was your basic sewing lesson!
